South Rock Vineyard is the southernmost site on Oliver's famed Golden Mile Bench, British Columbia's first official Sub-GI. This vineyard is home to some of the oldest vines in the Okanagan, as well as our estate winery.
Tasting Notes: A representation of the South Rock Vineyard plantings. Near equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Zinfandel. True to its name, translating as "the only one", a small portion of Gewürztraminer is utilized as both an homage to the oldest block of vines on the site and as a fermentation starter. As each block is harvested, it is added to the cuvée as part of a rolling co-fermentation. The ethos of this process is intended to put forth a unified expression of a single vineyard site.
Farm Notes: Fluvial fan of gravelly clay and eroded mountain rock.
