A rich and weighty texture loaded with notes of grapefruit, candied orange peel, sweet jasmine, allspice, and dried chamomile is balanced by sufficient acidity and a gentle pull of tannin, this wine begs for dishes of delicate spice or richer Alsatian cuisine, notably choucroute garnie.

Awards Notes: The Original Vines Gewürztraminer block was planted in 1986, offering up

concentrated, dense berries of great spice and character. To capture the

Farm Notes: South Rock Vineyard is the oldest continuously farmed site in the Mt. Boucherie portfolio, with plantings dating back to 1972. It is located on the southern tip of Oliver's famed Golden Mile Bench, receiving the gentler morning exposure. The vineyard soil is made up of fluvial fan and eroded mountain rock, lending excellent drainage and complexity.

With over 200 acres of estate vineyards planted as far back as 1968, Mt. Boucherie is home to some of the oldest plantings in British Columbia. Original Vines focuses on farming and crafting wines that singularly express the most unique blocks of these heritage plantings. All of the vineyard blocks chosen for the Original Vines Collection were planted before the year 2000. Planted in 1986.
